However, not all artists use premade fans in their work. Mainly because of two reasons:

To investigate and address these concerns, we decided to carry out our own research, taking into account the perspectives of artists regarding premades.
Artists’ use of premade lash fans
We surveyed 100 eyelash artists from Europe (mostly from France, Hungary, Italy, Finland, Estonia and Germany). We asked their use of pre-made fans, reasons for not using them, their main problems and preferences when using pre-mades:
- “Do you use premade fans?” – 70% of respondents said to use premade lash fans.
- “If you don’t use premades, then why?” – many resposnses were about price and not sufficient quality.
- “If premades were more affordable and/or in a bigger tray, would you use them (more)?” – almost all respondents answered “Yes”.
The disadvantages of premade lash fans
Those who don't use pre-mades explained their reasons with three main issues: quality, price and quantity.
They mentioned that pre-mades are more expensive, not as good as handmade fans, often in low quality (breaking apart, etc.) and trays contain too few fans.

When the new tray containing 2000 pre-made fans was developed, we initiated collaborations with 20 lash artists from different countries. We sent them the initial product samples and requested their honest reviews after trying it.

Of course, there were also few ideas for improvement, but achieving perfection with the first batch is always quite complicated. However, all types of feedback is impotant for helping us identify areas to improve.

Areas for improvement:
- The fan geometry is generally good, but not perfect. Highly experienced artists pointed out that achieving excellent fan symmetry with perfectly even caps between each extension and the opening angle of the fan would add more value to the product.
- Some boxes had overly sticky lines, resulting in fan breakage during removal. This might be caused by the freshness of the product as the stickiness softens over time.
